II. Основная часть урока:
1. Dear girls and boys! Today we are speaking about a great holiday- Easter!
What do you know about Easter? Do you celebrate Easter in your family? Do you help your Mother? What can you do to decorate your home? Can you colour eggs? Can you bake Easter cakes?
(слайд5)
On Easter Sunday millions of people joyously observe Christ's resurrection. Many families go to church.
2. Do you know when is Easter?
(слайд 6)
Easter is celebrated on the first Sunday after the first full moon in spring. That’s why it’s on a different date each year.
3. What season is it now? Easter is in spring! So let’s learn what spring flowers are in spring!
(слайд 7)
Easter is celebrated in spring. In England people decorate churches and their houses with flowers. A popular symbol of the Easter festival, the white lily is held as the traditional Easter Flower and represents love and hope.
4. What Easter symbols do you know?
(слайд 8)
The most popular emblem of Easter is the Easter egg.
A very well-known symbol of Easter is the Easter Bunny or Easter Rabbit.
Other symbols are spring flowers, lamb ягнёнок, cross, baskets, bonnets шляпы, Easter tree and chicks цыплята.
Egg is a sign of hope, life. True Easter eggs a
·re hard-boiled, dyed in bright colours, and sometimes well decorated. Nowadays Easter eggs are usually made of chocolate or marzipan or sugar.
Children in England believe the Easter Bunny brings the Easter eggs.
On the morning of Easter Sunday children wake up and find that the Easter Bunny has left baskets of candies and hidden coloured and decorated eggs for them.
The children hunt for the eggs, which have usually been hidden outside near their home.

And now look at the board and match the names of the symbols with the pictures above. (слайд 9)
What do you think English people do on Easter?
Many families also get together for a large meal.
English people traditionally eat hot cross buns on Good Friday. People believe they have magical healing powers.
For Easter dinner Englishmen eat baked ham or chicken with famous English apple-pie to follow.
What candies and treats are there on Easter?
(слайд 6)
Another popular pastry is “Hot cross buns”!
English people traditionally eat Hot Cross Buns, which are baked on Good Friday!
Hot cross buns! Дети слушают, а затем поют хором песенку.
(слайд 10)
Let’s listen and sing all together this song:

Hot cross buns!
Hot cross buns!
One-a- penny,
Two-a-penny,
Hot cross buns!
If you have no daughters,
Give them to your sons,
One-a- penny,
Two-a-penny,
Hot cross buns!
Hunts and Games for children in England
(слайды 11,12):
Children roll eggs down hills on Easter morning.
This game has been connected with the rolling away of the stone from Christ's tomb when he was resurrected.
Can you count all the eggs? (слайд 13)

Now let's have some Easter activities!

1.Easter Bunny Hoppity-Hop
Divide children into groups of 8-10. Appoint one "bunny watcher" per group. On command, have children hop in a particular manner. (Hop fast, hop on your left foot, hop backwards, hop and wave your right hand, etc.) Any child who fails to follow directions is out. At random intervals, call it "Stop!" Children must then freeze in position. The last one (or two or three, etc.) to do so is also eliminated from play. The last child to remain standing in each group may be rewarded with a small prize, a sticker, or a piece of candy. Depending on the ages of the children, the winners may also become the next group of "bunny watchers."

2. EGG Hunt.
Cut six eggs each out of four different colors of paper. Hide the eggs throughout the school. Divide students into four teams. Give each team a written clue or directions to help them find their first egg. On the back of the first egg, write a clue or directions to the second, and so forth. The winning team is the first to find all six eggs and return to the classroom.
